Want to look perfect for your upcoming photoshoot? Who doesn’t, right? Well, one thing we have found to be exploding in popularity (and for good reason – very helpful both time wise and as a huge stress reliever) is using a makeup artist for your special day. We have found this to be the case on several of our sessions.
We use Sandy from Wilmington, NC, on all our important sessions, she is wonderful, having worked for Christian Dior for years.
While we all want to look our best, saving where we can is important too, so you may find some of these professional makeup tips specifically for your wedding photos to be of some excellent help!
1) Prepare the Skin
2) How to Apply Foundation
3) Applying Bronzer
4) Applying Blush
5) Applying Eye Base
6) Applying Eyeshadow
7) Next, Eyeliner
8 ) Finish Eyes, with Mascara
9) Lipliner
10) Applying Lipstick
11) Final Touches
Tada! And your ready to go. Hope this is helpful!

I welcome your questions to help you be picture perfect for your special day!
Thanks Stephanie and Tim!
I will be using your Video to assist me in my training sessions. Great tips, easy to follow directions.
I have a session tomorrow with a 16 year old, her mother wants her to learn a ‘natural’ look for her age.
With your Video she can retrace my lesson, just remembering to go lighter on everything since it’s not for Photography.
Hey, guys, I love your Blog! Look forward to working with you again soon…..

Thanks Sandy. How’s the makeup artistry business recently down there in NC?
Greetings from NC!
Business is booming! Wedding makeup especially, but this week a young lady named Nikki came to my Studio for a ‘Makeup Session’…..she’s 16 and learning makeup application for everyday and Prom.
Her mother Patti wanted Nikki to learn the correct way to apply makeup so it looks natural and tips on skin care for her age group. After the session I referred them to your Blog and Photography Tips so Nikki would have ‘reminders.’ They were delighted!
Makeup is enhanced for Photography as the Video shows, but these are basic steps to perfect makeup application.
Thanks, Stephanie and Tim for placing such a valuable tool on your Blog. I will be referring often!

Great. Education is what it’s all about. When we were in New York working for a professional magazine, it was amazing the hours both men and women would be in makeup before the shots. But without it, well, let’s just say it is a HUGE improvement with it!
Keep the comments coming and sharing any tips you may have. We want this to be a very helpful section for all our readers. Thanks for leaving a comment Sandy, we appreciate it.
